Often credited as the first true muscle car, the GTO is one of the most popular models Pontiac made in the 1960s.

John DeLorean, then a chief engineer at Pontiac, developed the GTO concept in the early 1960s.  For the 1965 model, the GTO was an option to the Pontiac Tempest Lemans, not being a separate model until 1966.

The original color for this car is a rare “Iris Mist”, 1965 is the only year that Pontiac used this color for the GTO.
